Crime is on the rise or so it seems. Whether you are operating your own business or just want to insure the safety of your own home, you may want to think long and hard about using hidden digital video recorders to keep an eye on things. If your business or home is fairly large, you know that you may need to have several hidden digital video recorders operating all at the same time. Fortunately, there are several models of hidden digital video recorders that can operate numerous security cameras all at the same time.

One unit in particular, allows you to connect up to eight cameras and has eight alarm inputs. The great part is that all eight cameras can be viewed on one monitor, so you don’t have to go broke building a wall of monitors to handle the job. Once an alarm goes off, the switcher will lock onto the camera covering the area where the alarm went off. And if more than one alarm sounds, it will switch automatically between the affected areas. You can also manually excluded unaffected cameras or lock the affected cameras so that you have a constant view of the trouble spot.

There is also a nine camera version of these hidden digital video recorders that allows you to change setting from one, two, four or eight camera viewing, too. The system adjusts to your needs regardless of how many hidden digital video recorders you are using. Then if you need to expand your system, you don’t have to worry about purchasing another system, you are ready to go for up to nine cameras.

An alarm system is a great way to provide extra protection for your home. There are plenty of options available for you to ensure your home’s safety. So don’t take chances. Protect your family with a home security system that will safeguard your most precious valuables, and the people you love.

What are they?

Motion detectors spot the movement in areas covered by the security sensors. Motion detectors transmit high frequency radio wave signals. They give a warning that someone is entering into your home.

Different kinds of motion detectors & how they work:

Infrared Sensors:

Motion detectors use infrared light to detect heat changes, i.e. when a person moves across this light it detects them with the help of the infrared sensors. If a person moves in the range of the motion sensors, the alarm is activated. Infrared sensors are cheaper than microwave sensors and ultrasonic sensors. Infrared sensors are generally smaller and very reliable.

Vibration Sensors:

It detects a person through vibration. Many car alarms have this feature to alert the owner that something has bumped into their car.

Photoelectric Sensors:

Some motion detection systems use lasers and photoelectric beams. The laser is shot across to the other side of the room or doorway. If the laser is interrupted the unit’s alarm signal is activated.

Ultrasonic sensors :

They use a frequency around 30kHz. The transmitter bounces the waves of walls, furniture, windows and ceilings and when the room has stabilized, the alarm is armed.

Acoustic Sensors:

They can detect the energy produced by any kind of sound, including breaking glass. In the case of breaking glass from window intrusions, the pattern of the sound emitted is detected.

Security is very serious and for many having security cameras are a great option. For most of us, we’re away from the home and so we wonder what is going on, and also what if someone breaks in while you are away.

Not having a security system now a days is like playing Russian Roulette, and it’s only a matter of time before something might happen, and then you will be left holding the bag about your safety. I hope nothing never happens to you, but it’s a true fact that for the most part, crime is on the rise, and with recessions and hard times crime really goes up.

With the internet, you can go wireless and see what is going on from your laptop, or even your cell phone. You can be contacted via text or call when the alarm has gone off, and when some turns it off, so you can know when a family member has made it home. How convenient is it for you to know your family made it home, and if you’re away and you forget to set the alarm you can turn it on or off, amazing.

Most people look at the cost of the alarm system and say it’s too much. If that is the case you need to go through your house and put a price tag on your family, your pets and your valuables, and then I guess you will have your answer if it’s worth it or not. I personally think my family is priceless, and there is no amount of money I would spend to protect them. Security is no longer a fad or a gizmo, it’s a necessity of life for you and your family.

Make sure you do your research and find the best system for you, and if at all possible make sure you have cameras, so you can monitor your home while you are away, and it will give you the peace of mind, that you deserve and seek everyday in life.

A home alarm can be a great tool to help add an extra layer of protection to your household. A home alarm can be simple or complex, but is quite reasonably priced. The most common types of easy to use and install home alarms are explained below.

Motion Alarms
Motion alarms come a variety of sizes and styles; however a good option for any home is the Mace Motion Alert. This alarm mounts quickly and easily near any entry point in the home. There is no need to hard wire the device, as it is battery powered. Equipped with a keypad to program a personal entry code, this alarm can sound as a high pitched alarm, or as a two-tone entry chime. You and your family will be alerted quickly when anyone enters the home via door, window, or cellar hatchway.

Voice Alarms
Voice alarm systems feature wireless passive infra-red motion detectors (PIR) that transmit signals to a special base system. Users record their own warnings on the base system and for each zone that is monitored within the home. For example, if zone one in your home is your back door, your recorded alert could be “someone approaching back door” when motion is detected in that area. These recorded alerts can be modified at any time, and the motion sensors can be moved as needed. The system works in all weather conditions, and signals can be transmitted up to three hundred feet through walls, or one thousand feet in open space.
Door Alarms

Door alarms are a very simple, but very effective alert tool that no home should be without. While there are a few variations of this alarm, the premise remains the same: to notify occupants when someone approaches, touches, or attempts to open a door. Door alarms are great for travel and require no installation. In most cases these devices cost less than fifteen dollars, and are worth every penny!

Intruder Alerts
Intruder alerts, such as the Telespy Intruder Alert, combine different protection features. This system combines a standard telephone, a motion detector, and a microphone. Users can set the phone to dial a particular number when the motion sensor is turned on, and can communicate through the microphone when the call is answered. There are no monitoring fees, no installation, and no worries about false alarms. The Telespy is a very handy gadget to help provide a little extra sense of protection.

If you own a home and do not have a security safe, you should highly consider purchasing one. The investment you put into your purchase can give you peace of mind and could in the long run save you from unnecessary misfortune. Choosing a fireproof safe is generally recommended, as they provide added security and protection from fire. There are a variety of types of fireproof safes ranging from small portable ones right up to large cabinets. No matter which you choose, a safe can be placed just about anywhere in the home. Let’s take a look at some of the compelling reasons to make such an investment.

All homeowners have important papers and documents that should not be stored in a regular filing cabinet. Think about it. Do you really want your passports, will, property deeds and social security cards, for example, in a place where anyone could easily snatch them? By placing them in a home fireproof safe you can protect them from theft as well as fire.

How about your jewelry or other valuable possessions? Face the fact, it is just not safe to keep these valuables in a jewelry box in your bed room. The best place is in a safe, where burglars would have an extremely difficult time getting to them.

Many people today like to keep cash on hand for quick access and emergencies. Keeping that cash in your sock drawer or under your mattress is simply not a good idea. It is one of the first places a burglar would check and if your house was to burn down, it would be gone. A fireproof home safe is a safer place to store it.

Priceless memorabilia like photos or disks with your pictures should also be kept, specifically in a fire proof safe. When you think about all the valuables you own, most can be replaced, but your family photos cannot. Protect them in a fireproof safe. If your pictures are on computer drives or disks you will need to make sure the safe you own has the right protection. Some safes only provide fire protection to papers and other items that do not melt. You will need to make sure you have chosen one that is specifically meant to protect computer equipment.

Some people think that having a safety deposit box might be a better choice. In comparison, there is a lot to consider. When it comes right down to it home safes are more convenient because you have access to them 24/7. They are also more economical in that they eventually will pay for themselves, where a safety deposit box usually carries an annual renewal fee. Home safes also come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are able to hold larger items.

Fireproof home safes, depending on the size and type you want carry a vast range of price tags. Smaller, more portable ones can be found for under $100.00 and your larger, more secure safes can be into the thousands.

Everybody worries about the security of their homes and families. The question is: how can you make your home safe without turning it into Fort Knox? The sad fact is that, if someone is resolute to get into your house, they can and will. Ten years ago, my home was ‘safe’, but I was conned into opening the door and I let my attackers in. No home security system can safeguard against circumstances like that.

Burglars look for homes that look vulnerable. Most criminals are opportunistic. In other words, if they see an open door or window or if it is obvious that no one is at home and if there is no obvious security, then it is worth them attempting to get in. Open gates are also an incitement. So are valuable possessions put on show in windows.

It only takes minutes to steal something, you would be astonished. I let two armed robbers into my house and they timed 15 minutes to take everything of value in my house and then a car stopped outside to pick them up. It was night time and I was tied up. It could have been a taxi, which would not have aroused my neighbours’ suspicion.

It is imperative to show people (opportunistic thieves) that you have a home security set-up of some type. If you cannot afford a good, working alarm system, get a dummy siren box with a flashing light. It is not as good as a proper system, but it would take a brave or desolate burglar to find out, which means that you cannot tell anyone at all, in case it gets out.

A home security system is well-worth the money you will spend on it. The stress of being burgled or even held up, as I was, will make you wish that you were more security conscious. But it does not stop when the burglars leave. Then the police come and I spent from midnight until 4AM at the police station. I had to go back at least a dozen times after that. My insurance company had dozens of questions and it took four months to get a disbursement.

I felt certain that the burglars knew me, and I felt threatened everywhere I went for months. I could not stop glaring into people’s eyes to see if I could recognize my intruders’ (they had masks on, but I saw one man’s eyes). My life has changed drastically. I even moved out of my house the next day and never went back again.

As I said before, I had a decent system in place, but I had turned it off when I got home and opened the front door to my burglars. My suggestion is to get a wired or wireless home security system and, if you can afford it, get a monitored home security system with at least one surveillance camera, but preferably one on each external wall and one inside in the hall.

Get contact sensors for all external doors and vibration sensors for every windows. Put a personal panic button by all external doors and have exterior lights that are activated by motion or body heat outside. Keep your system switched on and be very suspicious of who you open the door to.

Burglars can rob any time of home out there. With this in mind it helps to take some home security tips in mind when protecting your home.

A great tip is to leave some lights at your home on. Many burglars will target dark homes so it helps to watch for the lights you have. Burglars tend to go into dark homes more often because of how they feel they could be empty.

Be sure to also take a look at all locks that you have. Checking your locks is important home security advice to see in that when your locks are well maintained burglars will not be able to easily get into your home. Deadbolt locks and knob-in-lock sets are popular things to check out for all entry points at your property.

A great thing to do for your security is to have metal doors on your home. Working with these doors is one of the most helpful family security tips to use because of how older doors can break and can be easy for burglars to get into. Metal doors are notable in that they are tough to break and are very sturdy.

Glass windows are noted for being popular burglar targets. Using glass with strong supports is one of the best things to do for protecting your family. A part of home security advice you should think about involves working with shatterproof glass. The thickness of this glass can be strong and it can be even marketed to customers as burglar-proof glass. Installing wire glass, which is glass with mesh wiring in it, for your windows is another of the home security tips to use. You will need to be careful with it because of how this glass can hurt when it breaks.

Another thing to do is to look into using a home security system for your family home. What makes this one of the most useful security tips to try out is that a system can alarm burglars when they try to break into your home. The alarm can easily scare off a burglar. Many burglars can even be scared off just by the yard sign that states who is taking care of your alarm system.

These are all great family security tips to use for your home. With these security tips you can keep burglars from getting into your home.

First, you must keep in mind that an intruder and burglar by his/her very nature is a lazy coward; the fact that he/she does not have the guts and endurance to take on a real productive job is proof of this fact. Second these facts can be used to your advantage and thus using them as a guideline to start simply before you let your security systems get complicated is a good way to begin.

Now an intruder, being a coward is a big fan of the darkness and not being seen, so always begin with a well lit property. Set up strategically placed flood or any convenient kind of lighting that enables you good surveillance of your property from inside and outside your house. This will be a great way to make your home to inconvenient a target for any thief. A further deterrent is giving the illusion that the trespasser is being watch by more than just human eyes; so a few fake surveillance cameras strategically placed around the property will be a cheaper option before setting up a real system.

In keeping with taking advantage of a thief’s cowardice, there is no better, more loyal and reliable security system than a good, well trained dog. The canine species, especially one that is a trained watchdog will always scare the living daylights out of any intruder and provide friendship to boot. Just be aware that responsible watchdog ownership will make sure any aggression the animal has will be properly channeled towards the right individuals. Thus train the animal or animals well and another tip is that you do not want them to take food from anyone but you. After all the effort you put in their upbringing and training, you do not want some heartless intruder giving your best friend poisoned meat.

One of the most popular types of locks today for consumers is electronic lock. Hence, we get electronic locksmiths. What exactly is an electronic lock? Well, it is basically a locking devise which works with the assistance of electricity or electric current. These locks are connected with an access system. If required, changes can be made in the access system and keys can be used too. The best part is that no changes are required in the lock when one shifts from keyless to with keys.

Opening an electronic lock is like pressing a button. Electronic locksmiths can add a lot of variation to the electronic locks. Electronic locksmiths can actually add codes or passwords to the locks as per the consumer wishes. The most popular mode of authentication in electronic locks used by electronic locksmiths is numerical code.

Another mean of authentication used by electronic locksmiths for their customers is usage of a card or a token. Electronic locksmiths can add or create a token or card specially designed to be swiped on the lock in order to open it. This card or token acts like a key for the lock. Card swipe electronic lock is often used in offices for employees.

Electronic locksmiths are trained professionals who work on locks and keys. The designs are made keeping in mind the end use or requirement of the customer. Today people are opting for electronic locks for their homes, offices, workshops, in government offices etc. Electronic locks are very safe and secure. People use them today because they can get their peace of mind once they install it.

The best part is that no key is used in such types of locks. There are codes and passwords to protect.
How do we come up with Security French doors? That’s something for anyone to wonder. French doors are just doors fitted with windows all along their length and their main purpose is to let in a lot of light. Those are the thoughts that rush in our minds. True to our thoughts, that is what the French doors were meant for and is still their main agenda. How then are they intended to be secure rather than fragile? How then do we come up with security French doors?

Traditionally these doors were not used on the ground floor but on the first floor and specifically at balconies. With technology, doors have become bigger and more elaborate. So gone are the days that French doors were used for the first floor only as there is a popular trend pulling people to be in close touch with their gardens and the little scenery around their homes. French doors provide the scenery and allowing people to make most out of their gardens. These doors were originally made of wood and glass but the trends are changing towards security French doors.

These doors are manufactured according to the owners specifications and using different ideas. Imagination is a key contribution to the beauty and security. The materials to be used are keenly selected as they should be easily shaped into different patterns and yet remain strong enough to avoid a brake-in. This also helps to come up with good insulation and proper installation for comfortable usage that suits your wild imagination. Materials could vary from stained wood to fiberglass. If these doors are meant for the main entrance, solid wood and fiberglass would work best. However, depending on the security alarm in your area of residence, you could choose to go for stronger materials like steel. Some are made of double glass with well designed grills placed between the glass sections as decorations yet strong enough to avoid brake-ins.

Other considerable security doors are the UPVC doors. They have all the benefits of the traditional wooden French doors but they are more durable, have better security feature and cost less to maintain. They are fitted with high specification security ironmongery as a standard requirement. UPVC doors are made of steel or aluminum sections using hollow pipes. This kind of door is both appealing to the customers likings and offers complex reinforcement to the fiber glass in case the door is put under strain. Fiber glass is a very durable material that is not easily broken. The manufacturer gives the customer a chance to customize their doors before they are produced.

Clearly, security French doors are a possible, attractive and satisfying venture which would ensure the security of your house and all your belongings. It is therefore now upon you to come up with an ideal image of what you want as your security French door and explain it to your local supplier and fitting expert.
