Organizing the bathroom can be one of the most daunting tasks that a person can take on. There is usually so much stuff in a bathroom that it ends up every where. The stuff will be on the back of the toilet, all along the edge of the shower or tub, lined up along the back of the sink and anywhere else that can fit something. It just looks cluttered.

To organize your bathroom, you must have a place for all this stuff besides where it is at the present time. One way to do this is to have containers that will house like things. By using containers, you will free up space. Also make sure these containers are pleasing to the eye and actually match the decor of your bathroom. You are not only getting rid of the clutter and organizing, you are also adding in some redecorating.

If you really need extra space there is a simple solution. All you have to do is make shelves between the studs in the wall. Just cut out a section of drywall or whatever else is on the wall to expose the studs. Use some plywood or other type of wood to make shelves that are attached on each end to a stud. You will be amazed at how much room you will get out of doing this. You can put a door on this new storage space if you want to hide the stuff. You could also just put up trim around it and leave it open. The trim will give it a finished look.

Another way to get more room in the bathroom is to buy in bulk. By shampoo and conditioner by the gallon. Have two different color bottles that you can pour the shampoo and conditioner in. Keep these bottles in the bathroom and store the big gallons somewhere else. If you use small bottles that will save you even more room. For those odd things, try using a basket on the back of the toilet. Here you can put odds and ends. Things like contact solution, Q tips, face cleaning pads and a host of other stuff. The basket will add to the decor to.

The next thing to do is clean out what you do not use to organize your bathroom. Do you really get on that scale sitting on the floor? Do you have little figurines sitting on the floor? Get rid of them. Your bathroom will look much bigger. Does the hair dryer need to be in there hanging from who knows where? Dry your hair in the bedroom. Does that curling iron need to be in the bathroom? Curl your hair in your bedroom. Those are just a few things you can do to organize your bathroom.

Dangerous Bathroom Products You Should Get Rid Of

The bathroom is where we usually feel at ease as it is where we take a bath or wash ourselves up. However, did you know that there are several dangerous products in the bathroom that can pose threats to your safety? Only a few may know this fact but awareness of potentially dangerous products in your bathroom can help you stay away from the harm that it can cause.

Potentially harmful products found in the bathroom are too ordinary and are even used everyday to the point that it’s somewhat difficult to understand why and how it is considered as dangerous. Included in the list of these products are aerosols, disinfectants, drain and floor cleaner, hair products like hair color and hair spray, wound cleaners such as hydrogen peroxide and isopropyl alcohol, nail products such as nail polish and nail remover, toilet cleaner and even pharmaceuticals.

First reason why they are considered as dangerous is the harmful substances making up the products. These chemicals not only dangerous to humans, but to the environment as well. Chlorofluorocarbons for instance found in aerosols, is the culprit for the damage in our ozone layers. Another reason is the reaction that might occur as these harmful products react with each other. And if they leak, serious problems can occur such as in the case of cleaners and hair sprays.

However, no matter how dangerous these products are, they are still considered as must haves for your kitchen. Yet, it doesn’t mean that you have to live up with the danger it poses. One thing you can do to stay away from danger is to keep and store them in a safe place. See to it that they are kept separately to avoid harmful chemical reactions.

Or better yet, opt for safe and environment friendly Green natural cleaning product alternatives. You can try using natural sources although that may seem a bit hard if you don’t have access to where these natural products are. As such, the better option is to opt for safe home products and non toxic cleaners. You can check it out in your local house supplies store or better yet, check out the net.
